Star Wars: The Old Republic Gaming Headset by Razer Reviews
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful Nice headphones, December 29, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Star Wars: The Old Republic Gaming Headset by Razer (Personal Computers) The headphones were a bit more plasticy looking than the picture suggests, but are still great looking. The sound quality is great, especially compared to the Logitech G930 I used to have (which had horrible static.) However the quality of all 7.1 headsets has never been comparable to stereo headsets in the same price range (as far as pristine clarity.) But hey! It's surround sound...I'll take surround sound over stereo any day for gaming. The product claims the color of the lights on the bottom of the headset change as you engage in combat in SWTOR, however this has not worked for me. I can however change the color by hand in Synapse to whatever I want...and by whatever I want I mean whatever I want the shades available are just ludicrous.

No sign of the previous issues that plagued the first unit I received. According to a follow-up communication from Razer support, the issue was due to a bad batch of resistors, so if anyone notices similar issues, I highly recommend you contact Razer. The Synapse drivers, while not perfect (the interface is a bit slow to load and at times unresponsive) go a long way in improving the sound quality of this headset. The drivers also provide manual control over the headset's lighting. In-game lighting effects are currently not available, I believe they are waiting for a patch to the game from Bioware for this feature to be implemented. Overall I would say the quality and design of this headset more than justify it's price, this headset is so light and comfortable, and the 5.1 surround sound effects are such that at times I have forgotten I was wearing a headset at all and assumed I... 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful The force is strong with this one!, March 21, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Star Wars: The Old Republic Gaming Headset by Razer (Personal Computers) Yet another great Razer product! I would have to rate this among one of the best headsets I've owned or worn. I have a little bit bigger than normal head, 7 3/4 hat size and with that my ears a little big bigger than normal but normal for my head size. This headset fits great though! The only other headset that I would have to rate more comfortable would be the Steelseries Siberia V2's.
Pros:
- Comfortable even for a bit of a larger head.
- Great noise cancelling
- 7.1 Surround sound! (Games like SWTOR sound amazing in WZ's/BG's!)
- Only a USB to hook up
- Stylish for both Republic and Empire
- Sound and Mic controls on their respective ears, easy to mute when need to
- Razer UI easy to download and use to change color illumination
Cons:
- Lighting is nice, but does little for the player except make the headset hot when you try and take it off, easily forgettable.
- Very comfortable, but tends to get hot and... Read more
