1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Welcome to the Future - it's Faster than you Think, May 3, 2011 By This review is from: Zalman 128GB N Series Ssd (Personal Computers) I bought this because my daughter's laptop has the maximum of every other stat I can imagine, and still it was having real problems with performance and it seemed to center around the hard drive. The Toshiba T-135 S1310 had a decent-sized hard drive, but at 5400RPM, it was behaving as if the cache was only 16MB, too: long pauses to laucnh programs, lots of thrashing even after defragmenting and running scandisk.
The Zalman 128GB N Series has been just the trick. Formatting in NTFS (default allocation size) leaves you about 111GB to work with if you're installing Windows 7. I had Windows 7 Home Premium, manually installed only the drivers (and not the Toshiba "helper" ware), SP1 and all the Windows Updates. Still, I went for broke: with 4GB RAM, I set up a 12GB paging file. ~99GB - more than enough for some programs, a bunch of music, and a few good games.
