Misleading, no 5.1 / Digital Optical For PC Connectivity, January 9, 2012 By = Fun: Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Chimaera 5.1 Wireless Gaming Headset (Video Game) I originally thought I had a DOA headset because I could not get the mic working on my PC while connected to digital audio. Razor support was no help and said that I had a 'defective product'. So Amazon quickly shipped me a replacement. After another night of trying to figure out why the new one wasn't working, and reading Razor's mediocre support website I found the link I was looking for

I have to use inferior RCA plugs in order to talk on the mic!? What is the point of calling it 'fully pc compatible' if it is in fact not? I own 4 other Razor products and each product has been working flawlessly for years, this one broke the mold in a big way. Yes, the audio was AMAZING when connected through optical, but through the RCA plugs it is horrible.

best wireless headset available for xbox, June 12, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Chimaera 5.1 Wireless Gaming Headset (Video Game) build: it is made with mostly hard plastic matte plastic like 4gb xbox + glossy plastic like the 250 gb, plastic seems durable looks like it could take a beating but i wouldn't give it a drop test lol...but at the same time the plastic is kind of creaky like when picking it up by one cup or putting it on if you stretch them out to them out ull hear some creaks...it seems to have gotten better and less creaky the more i use it though.
fit: the headset is big, and opens up 10 notches...i wear glasses and have a semi big head i have them opened to 3 comfortably and i could take off my glasses without taking the headset off, thats a big plus for me because with other headphones ive owned they have seemed to be tight and uncomfortable on my glasses...the padding is thick on the ears and the head it has the form fitting feel if they make mesh ear cups available i would purchase them, the headset has some weight to it but as soon as they go on my head with the padding it seems to... It is built very well, extremely sturdy, yet feels lightweight when you put it on. The surround sound works very well, it truly feels like the sound is coming from all around and outside the headset, rather than blast in your ear like other headsets. People may be put off by the fact it is rechargeable, you might think "what if the battery dies in the middle of gaming, do I have to take the headset off and put it on the charger?" No, since you can take out the AAA rechargeable battery and put some other batteries in.
This headset uses 5.8 GHz technology, which so far has gotten 0 interference, with absolutely no popping and clicking and hissing, unlike the Turtle Beach headsets. The Turtle Beach headsets become absolutely unusable, unless you're in the middle of nowhere with no wireless technology around.
Overall I am very happy with this product and would recommend it to anyone.
