big fan of tritton headphones, August 18, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Mad Catz CD79051100A1/04/1 Call of Duty: Black Ops Dolby Digital True 5.1 ProGaming Headset for PC - Powered by TRITTON (Personal Computers) i am a big fan of TRITTON headphones , i bought this to replace an old model of TRITTON that broke on me , this r lighter with the same 8 speakers configuration , the braided cable looks very nice, they tangle a little bit they r not as flexible , love the interchangeability of the ear cups , the leather ones do protect from outside noise but they warm my ears to much so i used the microfiber ones , a little tricky to change even though they send a tool for it , they add a on/off button and i love it , they also change the power source to USB and its very convenient i do not mind loosing 1 USB to power this headphones , this also have a very distinctive light (green to red)to indicate the mute of the mic (my old ones change from blue to aquamarine, you never knew when they were mute), for me the mic its always on the way and no way to move it, i guess i have to get use to it , first of all i'm not an audiophile or hardcore gamer (i do play online )or have a $180 sound card ,that said... This Tritton, however, already seems like it is light years beyond the Turtle Beach. There are two reasons why I bought this headset, 1) because the Turtle Beach started rattling and making a weird wind/feedback sound, and 2) I am already very pleased with the Tritton AX720 for my PS3.
When I opened the box from Amazon today, I couldn't believe the packaging on this thing, it is truly a sight to see and almost makes you not want to open it at all. Once you do get it open though, you find the real nice carrying case for the headset, and this case is no joke, it is seriously awesome and would provide great protection if taking along to a LAN party or something.
Inside I was pleased to find that there is an extra set of ear cups, but displeased to see that the connection between the sound module on this one... Read more
