All I Can Say Is "WOW!", April 29, 2012 By This review is from: Razer RZ04-00600100-R3U1 Tiamat Elite 7.1 Surround Sound Analog Gaming Headset (Personal Computers) To be honest, "WOW!" is really an understatement for this headset. I am far too impressed by the performance delivered from this product. Just the physical attributes themselves makes this headset all the more worth it. The retractable mic, the glossy finish, the comfortable fit, and most of all, the amazing sound that is produced from this headset will surely satisfy. I'll make thise review brief, so here is the rundown. Chat quality is superb on both ends. No static can be heard(unless on a very bad connection) and voices sound crystal clear. I tested the mic with some friends in a private lobby and all said they heard me perfectly. The gameplay audio is some of the best I've ever heard from a gaming headset, period! With 10 drivers strategically located on each ear cup, you couldn't ask for more. The perfect balance of bass, volume, and treble is found right here. I do find it trouble some to have to play around with a sound card settings(Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium)when going from 7.1 to 2.1. When I have my sound card set up to run 7.1 and I Switch the Tiamat over to 2.1 it sounds like your only hearing the sub of the 7.1 and not full stereo 2.1. You can set up the Sound card to fix this.
This headset is comfortable, but I find the megalodon to be more so. I have gotten use to them more for they dont fell as tight after a few hours of use. The Tiamat uses leatherette ear cups vs the cloth cushion design. This does give you better sound and better sound isolation, but not has comfortable after long use. I do have a hard time hearing any thing outside the headset with these on, even myself. And i while still light, the Tiamat fells a tad heavier then other headsets.
Now the bad. The mic, Its sounds worse then a 10 dollar table top mic... Read more

In the past I have tried manny "7.1" headphones and the Tiamat 7.1 are the best imho. Get em!
