It's interesting that some people say these are hard to wear. I find them by far the easiest to wear and the most comfortable of the behind-the-neck style. I wonder if they are trying to wear them like traditional phones? These are very light and stay on my ears (with glasses, by the way) better than most of the stiff plastic phones I've used.

I've owned many, many headphones over the years (Koss, Memorx, Panasonic, JVC), and Sony has been the most consistently good sounding brand I've had. The MDR-G73LP phones are no exception. They sound far better than the cheapos that come with virtually all portable devices (including Sony.) They aren't as good as my old MDR-V6 phones, which have been thoroughly abused over, what, about 15 years? And even though those V6's are physically shot, they still sound fabulous!

I recently bought the new sealed bud type phones (Sony), but I like the MDR-G73LP better. The sound is smooth, wide range, deep bass, and all around clean... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome headphones, October 26, 2003
This review is from: Sony MDR-G73LP Street Style Headphones (Blue) (Electronics)
Just to give you an idea of what I'm usually used to listening, when I'm home I use my trusty Grados for headphones (which are not exactly what I'd like to be wearing around town) and my stereo system is comprised of Pioneer's DVD player (SACD, DVD-Audio capable), which are then fed to NAD's driving Paradigm speakers.

I originally purchased these headphones in Japan when I was back home visiting my family, they were not sold here in the states yet. I have been using these headphones for about a year now and I still love them. These have extremely good drivers for a.)the price you're paying for and b.)for its intended use (outdoors on the streets). These are VERY comfortable cans that are light, pretty fashionable(I think), very portable, and did I mention comfortable? Sure Koss's porta-pro's are pretty comfy and sounds good (although you'd look like a dork with them on) but these are so comfortable that you forget you had then on your ears! (and sounds quite good as... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars The best headphones I've ever owned, November 25, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Sony MDR-G73LP Street Style Headphones (Blue) (Electronics)
These are by and large the best headphones I've ever used. I'm a college student, and I have to cram my headphones into my backpack to use them after and between classes. Normal headphones usually break after a couple of weeks of this treatment, and earbuds get lost. But these phones have no rigid parts, just a bendy wire that connects the two cans, so they're extremely durable.

The connector loops behind the back of the head, which means they're great for outdoor use because they won't slip off the top of your head like normal headphones. They stay on by slipping partially behind your ears, so they're not on too tight and do tend to come loose every once in a while during very rough activities like jogging.

I find they give better sound and stay in better than ear buds, and they hurt my ears less than the headphones that clip directly onto the top of your ears.

So, for durability, comfort, and ability to stay in place, I highly reccomend these headphones. Plus, they look really... Read more
