Horrific piece of junk., June 10, 2012 By  Terrafan - See all my reviews This review is from: Asus HS-W1 Wireless USB Headset (Electronics) Though the audio quality was decent, the microphone on it was an absolute piece of junk. It would mute at it's own discretion, sometimes just nodding my head would make the mute kick on. It was frustratingly inconsistent in how the mute activated. I do NOT suggest this thing...it's money thrown away. So let me be the first. 1) It has really good sound - though - though it rates itself high - it's really FM quality - Windows 7 says 22 KB/S. Still it sounded good. 2) It says 15M range - basically 45 feet. My townhouse is 30X30. No where close. For guys this means going to the bathroom - 15 feet away it died. 3) The microphone cracks and pops and there is a lot of low end static. There you go - I think 2 stars is generous.
